The Marsh Surety team is looking to hire a Client Representative who will take on a 6-month contract for our Toronto or Vancouver office. Depending on performance and business conditions, there is the possibility the contract could be extended to up to 18 months and eventually converted to a full-time opportunity after the contractual term.

What Can You Expect

Marsh’s Surety Practice provides consultative surety services, including executing bonds, reviewing contracts, and obtaining bonding capacity from surety companies.

Construction surety provides in-depth industry knowledge, solutions, project analysis, contract review, and day-to-day construction bond execution services. Examples of these bonds include construction and environmental performance, payment, supply, maintenance, and warranty bonds.

As a Client Representative, your day-to-day tasks will include, but will not be restricted to:

  • Assisting in day-to-day administration operations associated with issuing surety bonds. Ensure accuracy and timely issuance of client documentation including bonds, prequalification letters, renewal certificates, invoices, endorsements.
  • Working in partnership with client executives to ensure approval of bonds. This includes collection of information and presentation to sureties and clients.
  • Supporting in data management and maintenance.
  • Preparing bond costing for tenders, & final bonds (contract/commercial). This includes but is not limited to primary & pro-rated return/additional premium costing.
  • Providing support in conducting primary and secondary research with client executive on behalf of clients (ie. pulling bond liabilities reports, collection of financial information, etc).
  • Creating client files and updates filing documentation as required.
  • Maintaining proper records for reporting and audit purposes.
  • Ensuring all documents are current and correct.
  • Maintaining electronic file system for scanned bonds & email documentation.
  • Prepareing correspondence/reports/other documents as needed with guidance from client team.
  • Collaborating internally to identify and resolving information gaps in key account data.
  • Adhering to company procedures and data integrity standards.
  • May handle the mail service/liaise with couriers.
  • Comply with Marsh Excellence and Professional Standards to ensure quality service to all clients.
  • Other duties as required

  • Graduated from a Bachelor’s degree or a college Insurance program between December 2020 and June 2021;
  • Working knowledge of Excel and others MS-Office software programs;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proven strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-based environment;
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new concepts and skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
