In the data driven world that we live in now there is a high demand for data analysts. Data analysts are responsible for collecting and making sense of the data that a lot of companies have. As a data analyst you will help manage the master data, which means creating new collection metrics, updating the system and deleting any unwanted data sets. You will filter and clean data by reviewing previous reports. Data analysts work closely with management to make sure that the relevant data is being gathered.
The more creative thinking side that is required of data analysts comes after the data is collected. Once a data analyst is satisfied with both the quality and quantity of data at their disposal, they will interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports that they then present to management who can make decisions based on the findings. As a data analyst you will be responsible for both answering questions given to you and exploring questions/solutions to problems that the company might be unaware of. Data analysts are in charge of translating what the data is saying into actionable processes.
