Corporate Finance
Graduate Jobs & Internships

Overview

Corporate Finance is the branch of finance that handles funding sources, capital structuring and investment decisions. Working in corporate finance, your responsibilities would include planning, executing and organizing financial tasks. You will also have to complete financial reports and make estimates of funds needed for long and short term financial goals. Similar to accountants, developing and implementing plans for budgeting, reporting and forecasting will be a task for any corporate finance worker. Another important facet of corporate finance is monitoring Key Performance Indices (KPI’s). In general anything to do with the money and the risks involved in the financial plans/activities of the organisation will go through the corporate finance team. As the duties are similar within the teams, the corporate finance team and the accounting teams work closely together as a lot of the responsibilities overlap.

Education

A degree in Finance/Accounting is considered essential for roles in corporate finance. Once you start working in corporate finance, you will most likely be asked to work towards becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Salary

Corporate Financial Analyst: $55,000-$60,000
