SSENSE, pronounced [esuhns], is a Montreal-based fashion platform with global reach. Founded in 2003, SSENSE is pacing the vanguard of directional retail with a mix of luxury, streetwear, and avant-garde labels. We produce industry-leading original content and take pride in building our own technology solutions and systems from scratch. Our field of focus has grown beyond that of a typical e-commerce entity as we explore the nexus of content, commerce, and culture.

Job Description

The Studio Assistant position is a 6-month paid opportunity to work in the SSENSE studio alongside menswear and womenswear Stylists, Studio Coordinators and Photographers. This position allows individuals to contribute and gain knowledge in different areas of studio production.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Stylists during fittings
  • Prepare clothing racks for the Stylists
  • Unpack clothes, shoes and accessories
  • Provide support on set during photoshoot
  • Ensure all garments are prepped and photoshoot ready (steam and iron clothes, etc.)
  • Work closely with Coordinators to attain photoshoot objectives
  • Maintain organization in the styling room
  • Assist in receiving and returning products to and from the warehouse

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of textiles and garment care
  • Strong interest in fashion
  • Interest in e-commerce photography
  • Ability to follow the brand guidelines for all aspects of styling
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Must be open to work evenings and weekends

Skills 

  • Attention to detail and high level of patience
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Goal oriented, self motivated, and demonstrates a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to change
